We sell LoveMyPuppy Washer Cleaner Tablets. Our recommendations reflect published information, not our own head-to-head testing.
Our pick for puppy households: LoveMyPuppy Washer Cleaner Tablets for the empty-machine cleaning routine.
Remove loose fur from bedding first. A washer-cleaning tablet cannot brush a blanket or clear a blocked filter for you.
Freshly washed clothes can still carry yesterday’s dog hair. Start by finding where the fur remains.
Which washing machine cleaner for pet hair fits the job?
A pet hair dissolver for washing machines may treat bedding, the empty machine, or both under separate directions.
Read that distinction before buying. “For pet owners” does not mean every product belongs in a laundry load.
| Your problem | What to choose | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Fur stuck to bedding | A fabric-safe removal method or labeled bedding dissolver | Fabric temperature limit and exact product directions |
| Residue inside the empty washer | A compatible washer cleaner | Dose, approved cycle and ingredient restrictions |
| Hair clumps or slow draining | Manual removal and model-specific filter checks | Whether the filter is user-accessible |
Why LoveMyPuppy is our pick for the empty washer
Our pre-measured tablets fit a monthly cleaning routine after heavy puppy laundry. Twelve tablets cover twelve monthly cleans.
The supplier lists baking soda and citric acid. Check the complete label against your appliance manual before using them.
Our supplier confirms the tablets dissolve loose hair left in the drum. We have not independently verified that claim.
For heavy fur, shake bedding outside first and wipe accessible hair from the seal. Keep filter maintenance separate.
The practical reason to choose our offer is the routine and support. US shipping is free. You can compare it with our other laundry and fur-care tools in the LoveMyPuppy Store.
If you are unhappy within 45 days of delivery, our policy provides a refund without returning the box.
Remove loose fur before the wash
Fur is easier to gather before the blanket gets wet. Work outside when possible, so hair stays off the laundry floor.
- Shake the dry blanket outside.
- Test a suitable rubber glove, brush or lint roller on a small area.
- Gather loose hair and put it in the trash.
- Wash within the care label’s limits without packing the drum tightly.
For clothing, a lint roller can lift visible hair before washing. Check pockets and keep dog bedding loads separate where practical.
A low-temperature care label rules out a hotter dissolver cycle. Remove fur manually instead of risking the fabric.
If tumble drying is permitted, follow the dryer and fabric instructions. Clean the lint screen after every load.
Dryer sheets may help with static, but they do not clean the washer. Keep them away from pets.
A compatible hair catcher can collect some loose fur. It does not replace cleaning the machine or checking its filter.

Clean the empty washer after dog laundry
Take every item out. Wipe visible clumps from the drum and accessible seal before adding a compatible cleaner.
Our tablets go into the empty drum. Use the dose, cycle and temperature specified by the current label and manual.
Once the cycle finishes, wipe accessible loosened residue. Keep pets away from the machine, tablets and cleaning cloths.
Check your manual for filter access and maintenance. Let water cool and follow its draining instructions before opening anything.
Slow draining, leaks or persistent sewer smells need troubleshooting. Another tablet may not address the cause.
Use our washer sewer-smell guide when the odor seems connected to drainage.
Check the Vamoosh FAQ for the exact product distinction and temperature guidance.
What about a hot-wash bedding dissolver?
Vamoosh Pet Hair Dissolver treats suitable bedding during the wash; its Washing Machine Cleaner treats an empty machine.
The UK FAQ recommends 85–95°C for best hair-dissolving results. Many blankets cannot tolerate that heat. Vamoosh excludes wool and silk from its Pet Hair Dissolver guidance.
Use the exact package instructions only when both the fabric and machine permit them.
Never raise the temperature beyond either limit. A 40°C blanket cannot automatically tolerate a 90°C dissolver wash.
Buying a new washer is a separate decision. Check independent model tests before paying extra for a pet-hair setting.
Vinegar does not dissolve dog hair. Appliance guidance differs, so do not substitute it for an approved cleaner without checking.
Never combine cleaner with bleach, vinegar or another cleaning product.

Your questions, answered
What dissolves pet hair in a washing machine?
Vamoosh claims hair dissolving for its Pet Hair Dissolver and separate Washing Machine Cleaner. The former treats suitable laundry; the latter requires an empty washer. These are manufacturer claims. Remove visible clumps manually, and never exceed fabric or appliance temperature limits.
Does vinegar dissolve dog hair?
No. Maytag says vinegar and baking soda can loosen hair, but they do not dissolve it. Follow your appliance manual before using either.
Can I clean pet bedding with washer cleaner tablets?
Our tablets go into an empty washer. Remove the bedding first. Use laundry detergent and the fabric care label for bedding.
What if the washer still drains slowly?
Stop adding cleaner. Check the troubleshooting instructions for your model. A blocked filter or drainage fault may need service.
Does Affresh washing machine cleaner dissolve pet hair?
Affresh’s published product page does not make that claim. Remove loose fur separately and follow its empty-machine directions.
For other formulas, see our washing machine cleaner buying guide.
